| Get to Know Your Chamber Board Paul M. Ganz, Manager, Regional Relations DTE Energy Paul M. Ganz is manager of regional relations for DTE Energy, Detroit Edison and MichCon, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. Paul is responsible for managing relationships with local officials and units of government throughout Ingham, Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. This area encompasses mid-Michigan cities such as Williamston, Webberville, Fowlerville, Howell, Brighton, Chelsea, Dexter, Pinckney, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Paul began his career with MichCon in 1985, after having served as a congressional press secretary in Washington, D.C. and as a news broadcaster in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. At MichCon he was a media relations spokesman and then economic development manager, before becoming a regional manager in 1992. With the merger between Detroit Edison and MichCon in 2001, he assumed his current regional relations post for both utilities. His current duties include board positions on the Ypsilanti Convention & Visitor's Bureau, the Williamston Chamber of Commerce, the Livingston United Way Cabinet, the Michigan FFA foundation, the Washtenaw Economic Club and a member of the city of Ann Arbor Energy Commission. Ganz is a graduate of Lake Superior State University with a BA in political science. |

Malaysia-US Business Opportunities Thursday, May 15 MGM Grand Detriot 1777 3rd Street, Detriot 9am - 5pm A trade and investment delegation of about 50 business leaders and senior government officials from Malaysia will be visiting Detroit, led by Malaysia's Minister of International Trade & Industry. In conjunction with this, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority in Chicago (MIDA Chicago) is organizing a one-day Malaysian Business Conference. This is a premier international conference held in the brand new and luxurious MGM Grand Detroit. About 300 people from companies and other organizations in the Detroit region and the surrounding states are expected to attend this conference. This conference is hosted by MIDA and there is no charge to attend. The purpose of the delegation's visit is to seek partnerships with US companies interested in doing business with Malaysia and to identify business opportunities available for Malaysian companies in the US, particularly the Detroit region.
