Why join the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce?
The Ann Arbor Chamber is the largest business advocacy organization in Washtenaw County with more than 1,400 members, 14 staff, 13 committees and task forces and more than 200 volunteers. The Chamber is run by a Board of Directors made up of 19 business people, representing nearly all segments of the economy. The Chamber has been serving its members and Washtenaw County since 1919.
The mission of the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce is to support our members by promoting commerce in the greater Ann Arbor area through business advocacy and leadership in economic, political and educational development. The vision of the Chamber is to be an organization that will effect positive change to ensure a sustainable economic, social and natural environment for current and future generations.
The Chamber offers a wide variety of educational training, business counseling services, and networking opportunities for its members. In fact, the Chamber’s networking events and programs draw close to 4,000 attendees annually. From the not-to-be-missed Year Ender to Morning Edition to NetWorks! to Leadership Ann Arbor, the Chamber has many opportunities for members to network and connect with other business people in the Ann Arbor community.
The Chamber is actively involved in developing and implementing strategies that positively impact public policy issues that concern business in this area. The Chamber participates in, or states positions on numerous public policy issues such as the Living Wage ordinance and the City Budget. Members can find public policy information and legislative updates in the Ann Arbor Chamber B2B monthly publication, Chamber Express, our twice monthly newsletter, and on our web site. The Chamber's Website is visited by over 6,000 unique users a month. Members are listed on our website in our Membership Directory, our most visited page on the website.
The Chamber has a referral service to refer business inquiries to appropriate members and help you locate other member companies with which to do business. Your company will also be referred to other members and non-members who need your expertise.
