OVERVIEW
Impact is the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual public policy forum. It is an educational day that brings together an array of area community and business leaders to network and enhance their knowledge and understanding of policy issues affecting the region in general, and the business community in particular, in the hope of generating action.
At Impact 2009, the Ann Arbor Chamber, in conjunction with A2Success, will bring leadership, business and community voices together to create alignment on a compelling vision of regional success to ensure that the Ann Arbor region continues to thrive.
Impact 2009 attendees will:
• Understand current initiatives engaging a cross section of our community;
• Think strategically and make recommendations on mobilizing community resources to support achievement of specific goals;
• Share their wisdom on what they believe should be “priority focus areas” for action;
• Understand various options for engagement and determine what, if any, role they would like to play in ensuring our region is well-positioned for success; and
• Know their voice has been heard and that they have made a difference.
“Priority focus areas” will include corporate leadership, government efficiency, improving K-12 performance, talent centers and transit. After hearing a brief overview, attendees will select a priority focus area breakout session to more closely examine associated issues, challenges and opportunities.
